Halloween
A masterpiece in terror! The original movie that sent the slasher movie down its long winding rocky path.

MUST SEE!
Halloween II
The sometimes underated sequel. Less suspense and atmosphere but one of the best movie sequels out there. The story continues the same night as in the first movie as maniac Michael Myers continues after Laurie Strode laying waste to anyone who gets in his way.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch
I though this at least deserved a mention. A moneymaking scheme gone horribly wrong. How on Earth do you make a sequel to a film about Michael Myers without even mentioning him? A big lame supernatural mess of a story. I hate this film with a passion (Although Dick warlock aka Michael Myers from H2 does cameo!) Not enough to save this garbage though.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
Who would have though that number 4 would make a good movie. Well it did! Dwight Little you are a genius. Michael Myers is back although this time with a bit of a poor excuse for a mask (still creepy though!) The shock, tension and suspense all returns.

MUST SEE!
Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers
My least favourite of the bunch. Seems to have been created by a crew of people who have never seen a horror movie let alone a Halloween movie. Michael crys and also sulks in a jail cell......my point exactly! However they were onto something with the THORN storyline (See below)

WORTH A LOOK
Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers
A real let down in terms of storyline. Donald Pleasence's last movie before he died and the sequel that he deemed "The best sequel" in terms of the script. Involving a sub-plot about Michael being inflicted by THORN a Celtic curse (This explained the method behind Michael's killing).
The plot has more holes than swiss cheese because of the fact that many scenes were chopped and changed leaving the film in a bit of a mess. However the movie portrayed my favourite "inhuman" version of Michael Myers (That damn scary mask!) and kept me watching.

ALTERNATE - Halloween 6: The Origin of Michael Myers
Ok Daniel Farrands (Writer) and Joe Chapelle (Director) were onto a winner here with the THORN storyline. This version is much better than the original involving Druids, underground cults and Satanic rituals. Also we get more from the underated Paul Rudd. If this was an official, legal sequel im sure it would have done much better and would be my favourite sequel of the series. Highly watchable and ultra scary. RELEASE IT ALREADY, YOU OWE IT TO DONALD PLEASENCE!

Halloween H20
A stab (pun intended if you would like it to be) at recreating what 1 accomplished and 2 set out to do. If you like the original and Halloween II you should love this, however it leaves out parts 4, 5 and 6 and acts as though they never existed which leaves Halloween fans a tad disappointed. Nevertheless its fun, fast pased and packed with suspense. Oh and Jamie Lee is back.

WORTH A LOOK
Halloween Resurrection
My views are mixed on this one. I can never quite make up my mind. Michael is back in action and looking badder than ever however Michael but the film is let down by a poor script and storyline. It never was the same without Pleasence.

House of 1000 Corpses
The first thing that struck me while watching this movie was how much it resembled The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and secondly just how damn sick it is! In that case it definetely has a lot in common with TCM. I loved this movie I didnt know what to expect but it gives us everything scary guys with clown make-up, head fuck images and flashbacks, a fucked up family that give the TCM clan a run for their money and the introduction of one scary looking bastard called Dr Death! This is also one of the only movies to make me cringe at the gore level and I was also a little wigged at the weird dude that chases the girl in the films finale. I didnt expect much from Rob Zombie's first stab at film making but the guy seriously knows how to make a decent horror film! I hope to see a sequel to this bad boy because there are a few questions that I need answered. The sickest but most breathtaking film I have seen in a long time.
